Hi. I found your blog through the random blog thing, but I wanted to tell you in case no one has and I hope it doesn't offend you, but you should knoww. If you get pregaant again, you should maybe get checked for an blood disorder like Lupus Anticoagulant (sp?). I miscarried my first and second sons at 24 and 26 weeks. Then my daughter was born at 29 and survived. But it was only when I got pregnant with our fourth child that I got a doctor who finally checked this and found out that I have it. I gave myself heparin shots everyday and our little boy was born at 38 weeks! It was such a relief. I'm kind of on a mission to make sure women know about this because so many women don't find out until they've had a bunch of miscarriages. It is in the news a little more because it's what Courtny Cox had, but I think it's still not known by a lot of doctors. Even if you don't have that particular disorder, you might have another, so be sure to ask your doctor next time you get pregnant. And tell your sisters, too, if you have them. Here's a wikipedia link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupus_anticoagulant I really hope you have lots of babies that are healthy and that things work out next time. Don't let your doctor brush you off. Find out why this happened and save yourslef a lot of heartache in the future. Good luck. Joan Emmerson
Thanks, Joan. I appreciate your information and words of support. I have incompetent cervix, so next time I am pregnant I will have a cervical cerclage. I also just got done getting 15 vials of blood taken for 20 different blood tests. Let's hope if that's a contributing factor, we'll find out.
Jim, originally from Taunton, U.K. and Amy, from Tremont, IL were married on April 7th 2006 and are currently living happily together in Tremont with Maddie the beagle and Sammy the cat. They have two sons who were born prematurely and passed away, Brian William and Sawyer James. In April, their first daughter, Amelie Jane, arrived safely thanks to Dr. Haney and the TAC!
